Be Our Sweet Charity 2006
Posted on: Friday, October 21 2005 @ 16:24:41 BST

Sweet Charity are looking for a charity for support for 2006.

Sweet Charity was founded in 1999 by a group of women working in business, the media and the arts and it has two main aims:

  1. To create a relaxed environment where women can meet and network
  2. To raise money for a different, small, low profile charity each year

Since we started, Sweet Charity has raised in excess of £130,000 for our selected charities - which have included Children with AIDS Charity (CWAC), Refuge, The Theodora Trust Clown Doctors, Cancerkin and most recently Winston’s Wish who support bereaved children. Our activities have helped those charities raise their profile and the funds we have donated have changed the lives of many women and children in the UK.

We are currently seeking a charity partner for 2006.

Our criteria for selection are:

  • Annual income of less than £1m per year
  • Supporting an issue that is specifically relevant to women
  • To support new or additional work rather than to fund core costs
  • A desire to work in partnership with Sweet Charity to leverage the maximum benefit from our efforts

We are not asking you to complete a complex application form, but we would be grateful if you could supply the following information:

1- Full contact details
2- A brief statement of the aims and function of the charity
3- Your most recent Annual Report and Accounts
4- one page maximum on the reasons why your charity might be the ideal partner for Sweet Charity
5- Proposal on how you would spend a £20-25,000 donation (no more than one page and a crucial element in our decision making)
6- Examples of how you have worked in partnership with the corporate sector and any current corporate partnerships
7- Celebrity endorsements (if any)

Unfortunately, we cannot support all the charities that approach us and the following types of organisation fall outside our guidelines for support:

  • Groups which are not a registered charity
  • Specifically religious appeals
  • Organisations whose main activity is outside of the UK
  • Capital appeals
  • Individuals
  • Loans or business finances
  • Animal welfare
  • Endowment funds
  • Expeditions or overseas travel
  • Political Parties or bodies

Please email your applications to laura.marks@primrosehill.co.uk and send a hard copy to

Sweet Charity
32 Elsworthy Road
London NW3 3DL

Closing Date for applications Thursday 27th October 2005.

All applicants will be notified by early November about a shortlist.
