Credit card information is never actually entered on the smartgive site itself, nor are any credit card transactions processed via smartgive.

All credit and debit card donations are processed by our processing partner, Charities Aid Foundation (CAF). When a user goes to smartgive and chooses to make a credit card donation via Donate Now or Sponsor Me links, s/he is redirected to the CAF website. Nightingales is a small charity whose objects are to relieve poverty, sickness and distress for the under-privileged children of Cernavoda, a small poor town in South East Romania, and the surrounding areas. It also aims advance education and integration amongst the children and young people in the area. Since it was established in 1995, it has transformed the lives of numerous children. The objectives of the charity centre around three key projects:
1.Casa Fericirii (Home of Happiness) - helping HIV+ orphans become integrated members of society through education and nurturing.
2. Nightingales School – offering disadvantaged children in Cernavoda an education and apprenticeship scheme. All children receive a hot meal every day and go on a camping holiday for a week in the summer.
3. Community Centre – occupying, integrating and educating the youth of Cernavoda through activities such as sport, drama and dance.
